Biography
Mr Nick Arkoulis is an NHS Consultant Plastic Surgeon, based at the internationally renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS Plast) and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Glasgow.

Mr Arkoulis is on the GMC’s Specialty Register for Plastic Surgery (ref. no. 7021922) and his clinical interests include trauma, burns, reconstructive surgery, and advanced skin cancer in both adults and children. He has previously undertaken fellowships at the internationally renowned St Andrew’s Centre for Burns in Chelmsford and the Intensive Care Unit in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He was also a travelling fellow at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Galveston Texas, one of the leading paediatric burn centres in the world.
Mr Arkoulis holds a Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in Healthcare Law and Ethics by the University of Dundee, a Diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences (DipFMS) by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, and a Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery by Queen Mary's University in London. Combined with his clinical expertise and high-quality training, this allows him to offer definitive expert opinion in civil and criminal matters relevant to Plastic Surgery, Burns, and Cosmetic Surgery.

Unlike most consultants offering expert opinions, Mr Arkoulis is able to perform comprehensive legal database searches and identify relevant legal precedents, going a step further in fulfilling his duty to the Court.
Mr Arkoulis has engaged in medical education and research throughout his career. He is a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd) and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). Mr Arkoulis is a former Clinical Research Fellow of the University of Edinburgh and his research interests include stem cells, scar physiology and hydrogel scaffold formulation. He has presented his work in numerous international meetings and has published in many peer-reviewed journals, including the Lancet.
